There are very few people who truly live life- she is one of these few people. Anna Marie Durkin McCue loved her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, son-in-laws, and Coors Light more than anything. She was lucky enough to meet her soulmate, travel the world with him, create a beautiful family together, and have the most amazing friend group of any other. To know her was to know utter love and utter kindness. She was so supportive of whatever we did and would encourage us to be the best people we could. One of her many life philosophies was, “It’s a pleasure to labor for those you love,” and if you ever met her you knew this love. She would give you the shirt off her back, and do whatever she needed to help. Whenever my mother or my aunt would be in the kitchen on holidays she would constantly ask if she could help, and would do whatever she could with love. Her love for life was infectious, and if there was a dance floor you could bet she was on it. She was proud of her “singing” voice and of course showing off her dance moves. She was the life of the party at every party, and if there wasn’t one she would make one. She loved to tell stories, and she loved to listen to them. She was the best story teller, and one would always turn into 10. Nanny, as she was called by everyone since she loved people as if they were own, had the power to make people laugh and she created such incredible memories. She truly was the people's grandmother. One place without fail that always treated her like the Queen we all knew she is, was at the West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade. St. Patrick’s day was her time to shine and she would proudly strut around with her squad. One word to sum up my beautiful, intelligent, crazy, fun loving grandmother would be joy. She lived joyfully and would settle for nothing less. She is loved by so many, because she always had so much love to give. We got the incredible experience of being able to live with her, and that is time I'm so thankful for. I would give anything to have you walking around our house, and asking where your purse is just one more time. Nanny, I love you and thank you for all the memories, life lessons, and nanny-isms. I am so blessed to have you as my grandmother. I hope you’re watching down on all of us with Poppy. I can bet you were welcomed with a bundle of green jell-o shots and a round of Coors Light. My heart will forever miss you, but I am so happy you are with Poppy. I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
